Anglo-Saxon cloisonne brooch. Circa 9th-11th century AD. Copper-alloy / enamel, 25mm, 4.5g. Circular frame with seven radiating knops (six survive) each with a blue stone, four remain. The cloisonné design is formed of seven semi-circles of dark blue glass that form an inner radiating sun-like shape in light blue enamel with a yellow enamel square at its centre.
